Concert In the Park

 I love living and working so close to downtown.  It allows me to have a very short commute to work and subsequently more time with my little one and her dad.  I’ve also been very thankful to take this most recent promotion because I have been able to have a slower ramp-up time for this project.  It’s allowed me time to take a lunch and go home to see Eleanor while she’s still awake. Today it allowed me to go to one of the noontime concerts in the park downtown at Esther Short Park.  Grandma G picked up Eleanor to watch her for the afternoon while dad makes an important call.  They grabbed me on the way down and I got to listen to a fun Marimba band, Supadupa.  Eleanor really enjoyed it and was bobbing her head most of the time.  We also had visits from a nearby little boy who thought Eleanor looked like a fun little girl to smile at.  Super fun.

Compliments to the chef

Eleanor gave her compliments to the chef during dinner tonight. Finally mom found something she likes! Granted, it’s pasta and cheese so we know she’s related to her uncle Logan. 🙂

Fairy dress up

Eleanor has been having fun playing with the fairy dress-up items Grandma Galyan has at her house. So cute.

She’s growing up so fast, and since she’s so tall compared to others her age, we’re sad to see her baby features are already disappearing. Where did all the baby chub go? I miss it!!!

Clark County Fair

We took E to the fair today. Last time we went two years ago I was newly pregnant.  She had a great time this year but was sooooo tired by the end.  Some highlights- we love rabbits and goats, not so much on the sheep.  Cows we’re ambivalent to.  Watching other little kids on pony rides is the best thing ever.

A few days off at the coast

We spent a few days off at the coast this week.  We stayed in Astoria and went to visit Ben’s family who were camping at Ft Stevens State Park a little as well.  We had a great time showing Eleanor the barges and ships and helicopters from the hotel room balcony.  She got to see her cousins and aunts and uncles as well as her Grandma and Grandpa McCarty.  It was nice to have a few days off to have some fun together as a family, with the bonus of seeing Ben’s family too.  We only regret that we never got to enjoy the hotel pool as well.  🙂
